Today's thoughts

After recently reading books about end times that were concerning, I
finally found a truly great book.

"The Priority of Kingdom Focused prayer" by Rick Astle. He uses
scripture to help us see our selfishness as it relates to our prayer
life. We often don't pray for anything but our concerns in this life
and those of our loved ones.

What if we prayed for what God wants? He wants a relationship with all
people. He wants them to follow His ideas on how to live. I see the
brilliance of God here, if we followed this advice and everyone became
focused on the things of God and not the things of self what would
happen? I would predict all the issues we pray for would go away.

Most of our problems can be traced back to selfishness of people. One
good question may be how is God glorified in this or that action?

So the book provides a guide so we can form the habits of seeing this
world differently and praying for the things God wants. I read it
through once- just to see how it ended (it didn't disappoint). I intend
to read it again and apply.
